Class Goals

In the Green Room, our toddler classroom, our goals are centered around fostering a rich and meaningful learning environment that supports the development of each child. At this age, children are discovering who they are and what they are capable of. As they start to move faster, communicate clearer, and express their emotions, we aim to work together with families to scaffold their formation of self-worth and identity. We work to cultivate a sense of wonder, curiosity, and exploration by providing open-ended materials and experiences that ignite their creativity. Our goal is to empower toddlers to become active participants in their learning, encouraging them to express their thoughts, ideas, and emotions through various forms of communication so they can see themselves as capable learners and community members. We strive to build strong relationships and a sense of belonging within our classroom community, valuing each child's unique strengths and perspectives. Through collaborative projects and documentation, we seek to cultivate a love for learning, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong passion for exploration and discovery.

Flow of the Day

*Please note we are a classroom that does not follow a strict schedule. While the schedule will tell you the basic flow of our day, it will never be precise. There will be walking trips, studio visits, picnic lunches and other things that disrupt the flow. This is especially true in the toddler room where we give children the time to do things on their own: like putting on their own jackets, and taking an extended time to try out the potties. We believe that our flow should change daily depending on the needs of teachers and children. We are a flexible and responsive classroom!*
